Made from late-harvested grapes—a blend of 58% Grenache, 22% Mourvèdre and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon—the IGP Côtes Catalanes Double Passage is named for its élevage. It goes first into new demi-muids for six months and then spends another year in older oak. Potent and concentrated, it ripples with muscular dark fruit and hints of chocolate. Full-bodied and fully ripe, it's rich and velvety on the palate, ending with a touch of sweetness and soft, plush tannins. 90-92/100
