Offering up aromas of cherries, rapberries, rose petals and dark chocolate, Audoin's 2022 Marsannay Clos du Roy is medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with bright acids and a succulent, charming profile. 90-92/100.

Burghound.com: 90-93/100 Here a discreet application of wood surrounds the fresh, cool and restrained red and dark pinot fruit where a floral top note adds a touch of elegance. The more concentrated medium weight flavours possess excellent intensity while the moderately firm and youthfully austere finish flashes more evident minerality on the balanced and sneaky long finish. This is built to repay up to a decade of keeping but could reasonably be approached after 5 years. Drinking 2030+.
JamesSuckling.com: 95/100 A cool nose of raspberry, redcurrant and lemon zest, this has an imposing tannin structure and excellent concentration. Although only a lieut-dit (an unclassified vineyard site), this has what we expect from top 1er Cru sites and has clearly been built for the long term. So much spice and a touch of coffee bean at the very long, precisely balanced finish. Drink or hold.
Antonio Galloni's Vinous.com: 91-93/100 The 2022 Marsannay Clos du Roy has admirable transparency on the nose with nicely focused, vibrant scents of red cherry and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very good concentration and lightly spiced darker fruit toward the Gevrey-like finish. Bravo. This is a great Clos du Roy !
