The red 2016 Dominio del Pidio was impressive, with ripe fruit, spices and graphite and a medium to full-bodied palate. 2016 is a fresh and fruit-driven vintage, with good balance. This is mostly Tempranillo, but there's also some 5% white Albillo that fermented together in concrete vats and oak barrels, where they wine matured for 16 months. There are notes of red and black fruit, some pepper and a smoky touch that makes a comeback in a medium-bodied palate where the tannins are fine and the finish is clean and long. 93/100.
