Parker review
Poured from the fresh bottle, the dry 2017 Riesling Kinheimer Hubertuslay Auslese ** (White Capsule) reveals a little touch of oak, coconut milk and shea butter on the pure, elegant and bright Riesling nose, revealing delicately crunchy/spicy slate and cookie aromas. Round, intense and charmingly lush but with fine, tight tannins, this is a dense and powerful yet firmly structured, elegant and aromatic Hubertuslay that reveals a high level of concentration and aging potential. I re-tasted the wine four days later from the same bottle, and my note is oak-free and reads like this: "Super clear and elegant on the filigreed and finely slatey nose that displays ripe stone fruit aromas such as peaches, nectarines and plums. Juicy-piquant on the first palate, this is a dense, fine-meshed, persistently juicy and highly attractive Riesling with stimulating grip and salinity. Excellent potential !" 94+
