Parker review
Versatile, absolutely fresh and breezy, the Vietti Roero Arneis is a pleasure to drink. It delivers aromas of citrus, honeysuckle and fragrant pear with a hint of latex or whey (like you might taste in fresh mozzarella) that I adore. The wine ages on the fine lees to obtain its shiny texture. Try pairing this bottle with an insalata caprese made with heirloom tomatoes.
Press
Antonio Galloni's Vinous.com: Luca's father Alfredo practically invented dry arneis in 1967 and was responsible for rescuing the variety from extinction; previously arneis had been vinified sweet. Another name for the variety is "white nebbiolo," noted Currado, suggesting that arneis could have been an early mutation of the red variety.
