Parker review

In its inaugural vintage from a recently acquired vineyard, the 2022 Moulin-à-Vent has a nose of black cherries, violets, licorice, sandalwood and petrichor. The palate is full-bodied and powerful with powdery, gripping tannins and concentrated, robust flavors of black fruits, sous-bois, vine smoke and a grounding, pleasantly bitter aniseed element. A wine to store away for a few years. 91/100.

John Gilman's View From The Cellar94/100 To the best of my knowledge, the 2022 Moulin-à-Vent from Alain Coudert (of Clos de la Roilette fame) is brand new in the family’s lineup. Given that the family’s Clos de la Roilette lies down in the valley right next to border for Moulin-à-Vent (and was once sold as such), it is a logical extension for Alain. The wine is outstanding on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet offering up scents of cassis, black cherries, a bit of spit-roasted gamebird, dark soil tones, coffee bean and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is deep, young and full-bodied, with a beautiful, rock solid core of sappy fruit, fine soil inflection and grip, ripe, buried tannins and superb length and grip on the impeccably balanced and complex finish. This is outstanding Moulin-àVent, but it will demand a bit of cellaring to drink with true generosity. 2030-2080. 94.
