The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Biodynamie comes from over 100-year-old Grenache vines planted in the northern area near Courthezon. Only 320 cases are produced. The wine reveals a medium dark ruby color, good acidity, sweet kirsch, lavender and loamy soil notes, lots of depth and richness and a big, chewy personality. It should drink well for at least a decade. 90-92/100.
Wineaccess.com: Vivid ruby. High-pitched, spicy aromas of redcurrant, cherry, garrigue and minerals. Fine-grained and precise, offering plenty of fruit without jamminess. This energetic wine finishes with perfumed flavors of redcurrant, bitter cherry and a sneaky herbal nuance. These grapes (90% grenache) come from vines that are reportedly more than 100 years old, from a vineyard in the north-west sector of the appellation. 90
