The only 2010 I tasted was the brilliant 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Adrastrée. This sensational wine is nearly 100% Grenache with just a touch of Mourvedre, all aged in small old Burgundy barrels. Dense, rich, powerful, forward and evolved, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as lots of kirsch, garrigue, lavender and licorice. Drink it over the next decade.
Stephen Tanzer's IWC: (100% grenache): Bright ruby-red. Wild, intensely perfumed aromas of red and dark berries and garrigue, with smoke and mineral overtones gaining strength with air. Juicy and precise, offering sappy black raspberry and lavender pastille flavors that put on weight in the glass. Dusty tannins give shape to an impressively long, sweet finish. 93/100
